July 26-30 was Adventure Week VBS working with FSBC Anaheim with the theme "Everest, Conquering Challenges with God's Mighty Power." Over 250 came every night and more than 20 asked to receive the Christ.

December 13-14. Christmas Program with the Christmas Choir sharing "The Spirit of Christmas"

March 15. The "Hope Over Bondage 2" Concert raises funds for Raise 100 Free 100.
August 8. Taiwan Aborigine Choir visits for a performance at CBCOC.

June 14-16. Our church wide retreat at CBU Riverside with the theme "Unshakable Faith"
September 29: The first Mandarin language worship service and what would soon grow into many Mandarin ministries.
August: The church family begins mission efforts to the Pala Indian Reservation in North San Diego County.
October: The Drama Team presents an outreach performance of "At the Crossroads" written and produced by Larissa Lam
December: The church family adopts a covenant before God to fulfill His work in reaching a particular largely unreached people group.
October: A Harvest Night Neighborhood Block Party reaches out to the local community along with the Spanish church.
Pastor James Chiu is called to start a church plant in Tustin
May: The first worship service at the completed Sanctuary Building
The church family for the first time sends one of their own as a overseas missionary. This missionary begins reaching out to the poor in the Philippines.
December: The first building, the Fellowship Hall is completed
September: The church purchases the property at 412 East Broadway in Anaheim.
February: The first English only language service is held.
Chinese Language school is established with Phillips Hung as the first principal
Dr. James Chiu, Founding Pastor
In 1974, Pastor James Chiu with his wife Minnie began a mission at First Southern Baptist Church of Anaheim to have a church that would reach out to the Chinese Americans living in Orange County. He was the Senior Pastor until January 1993, when he became the founding pastor Chinese Baptist Church of Central Orange County.
