English Outdoor Worship Beginning December 6
We will resume English Worship Outdoors on the CBCOC Campus starting December 6. Online Livestreams will still continue for all 3 services as Cantonese and Mandarin Worship will remain livesteam only. Reservations begin Monday, November 30 and Online Health Screenings open December 5. Please note that Outdoor English worship may be subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.

State Mandated Orders: No Indoor Activities
On November 16, Orange County returned back to the purple tier under the California Covid-19 restrictions. Per government edict, houses of worship are restricted to outdoor worship services only. Based on this new development, I regret to inform you that the church campus will no longer remain open for Sunday morning indoor congregational worship. The elders voted and agreed to comply with restrictions laid out for places of worship under the purple tier.

All three congregations, at present, will revert back to “scattered” worship via livestream. The normal livestream times will remain the same for each congregation (English and Mandarin – 9:15 AM, Bilingual – 11:00 AM). The elders will continue to monitor the situation and consult the state and local governing authorities for guidance and directives.

I want you to know that this was not an easy decision. The elders recognize the benefit of the physical gathering for worship. Even though each congregation did not have full pre-pandemic attendance during our September/October reopening, the congregational gatherings provided significant encouragement for those who did attend. Not only is there spiritual benefit in assembling together, we are also mandated by God to assemble. Yet, we live in challenging and confusing times. We need wisdom and guidance from the Lord.

Continue to pray for CBCOC in our scattered state. We take solace in our God, whom we trust will eventually lead us out of this dark season. The plan is to reopen indoor worship services once Orange County returns to the red tier.

May we continue to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
On behalf of the elders, deacons, and church staff,
Rev Tony Leung
CBCOC Senior Pastor
